When I first moved to the wiregrass area, I had no idea what was available to do as a family. It took sometime for me to find all the family-friendly activities in the area. I soon found that the wiregrass area offered so much for my family to do, it quickly became a “favorite” place I have lived.
All of activities in the entire wiregrass area was the reason I started to publish Macaroni-Kid-Dothan-Ozark. I needed them to be in one place, that families could find them, bookmark them and have access to all the rich culture of family-friendly fun.
In my search to put things on the calendar for you, I found that it wasn't just the wiregrass area, but there were many spots within a day's drive that were rich in family-friendly fun.
Last week I came across an article from Valerie Illguth. She publishes 51 Cent Adventures http://www.51centadventures.com/
On her blog she put together a great list called “100 Things to do within 100 miles of Fort Rucker: The Ultimate Day Trip List” which you can view HERE. It is a very well written article, with links and descriptions of all the family sites within 100 miles of us.
