Scarecrow's In The Garden @ Dothan Area Botanical Gardens
2019 Theme: We invite you to submit a scarecrow fitting this year's theme, which is "Classic Movies & TV!". Scarecrows will be on display during the month of October. Families, businesses, non-profits, church groups, schools, clubs, and individuals are all encouraged to join the fun and submit your creation. This can be a wonderful team-building project for your family or group. It could be profitable too, as we're giving $100 cash prizes to the top overall winners and to the best school entry. Judging will be based on creativity, originality, and adherence to this year's theme. The entry fee is $20 per entry (waived for schools).

Scarecrows on the Square
Businesses, organizations, families, and individuals are invited to design and display scarecrows in downtown Headland Sept. 22 through Nov. 1. Participants must register their entries with the Chamber and turn them in at the Municipal Complex for displaying downtown. Voting will be Oct. 1-31 on FaceBook to determine the winning entry. A prize will also be awarded for the Best Scarecrow Selfie posted with #Headland Scarecrows. To register, email HeadlandALchamber@gmail.com. Forms will be posted on the Chamber’s Facebook page and website.

Scarecrows in the Park @ Frank Jackson State Park
Over 300 scarecrows spread along the trails of Lake Frank Jackson State Park will greet you as you enjoy the beauty of the state park. The event is hosted by the Lake Frank Jackson Trailmasters who started the event in 2008. Approximately three miles of walking trails will take on very festive and original characters during the event. The scarecrows are creatively made by various individuals, businesses, churches, and school groups. It is a great idea for school or senior trips. Golf cart tours are available. If you have a larger group please call ahead to schedule your golf cart tour. October-November Times 7:00 a.m.-sunset.

The members of the Elba Chamber of Commerce set up a fall carnival on Courthouse Square and give free candy and treats to kids. The festival also features a beautiful free Jack O' Lanterns on the Levee Walk, bounce houses, outdoor scary movie, and the spirits are full of thrills for those brave enough to take the Haunted Hayride.
