Ahhh it's summer. Time for water fun. But with that fun sometimes comes tragedy. We hear the headlines every year, a child drowns in a swimming pool. In the United States, there are thousands of drowning deaths each year. According to the CDC, about one and five people who die from drowning are children 14 and younger. And for every child that dies there are another five that require emergency care for non-fatal injuries that can cause severe brain damage and long-term disabilities.
The solution..swim lessons! The World Largest Swim Lesson is June 20, 2019. This event promotes swim safety and helps build awareness on the importance of teaching children how to swim. Organizations across the world will participate in is this event. In its 10th year, this year's event kicks off in the summer in North America. This year it will take place at Wiregrass Park, Westgate Indoor Competition and Wellness Pools, and Water World Dothan 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM
