DOTHAN - Development of the Spanish Galleon as Illustrated by Ship Models @ Main Library

Join us And Dr. Steve Harris for a discussion on the development of the Spanish Galleon. Harris uses both ship models and "photo tours" of models he has built for Florida Museums and Archaeology departments to illustrate the lecture. Sailing warships from ancient times through Galleon development up to the Man-of -War will be covered. A portion of the lecture will center on his design and build of models of the 1559 Emanuel Point Shipwrecks, an early Galleon and a  transport excavated by the Univ of West Florida in Pensacola. Harris is author and co-author of various articles on the early Spanish ships of exploration.
